Knowing that, you should always make sure that your business as a representative that can talk to OSHA or other health inspectors at a moments notice. As long as there are communication lines open, you should always be given the opportunity to fix your health and safety violations before they become a real issue.
Unions have both positive and negative connotations when it comes to business associations. Typically, management will want to have a good relationship with the union representative because they can talk things out and make situations and circumstances better for everyone. Whenever there is any conflict between unions and management, that’s when strikes happen, productivity gets lost, and companies begin losing money. There are legal responsibilities at the local, state, and federal levels when it comes to union representation, so company owners, in particular, should be aware of all of these at all times.
